ViewITpro is designed to deliver swift and decisive control of
customer IT infrastructure. Most administrators have collections of scripts
and automated checks and fixes they have developed over the course of their
careers. With ViewITpro, administrators can embed
those scripts and self-healing features into a true network management
platform.

There are
currently seven Action possibilities that can be triggered by an event:
Action
Description
Create Alarm
This is the default action for most events. An alarm is
created to the ViewITpro Alarms tab and status
icons in all applicable views are updated. The alarm can trigger an email,
pager, or audible notification as well.
Clear Alarms
ViewITpro's AutoClear feature enables the user to clear alarms when
specified conditions are met, such as the condition has healed. Clearing
alarms in an automated way of reducing work and saves time for operational
staff.
Send Email
Events can trigger emails directly. The preferred mechanism is
ViewITpro's powerful Alarm Notification Rules
interface which provides more granular control of how and when to send
email notifications and under the desired circumstances.
Start Data Snapshot
A very useful feature for "capturing what was
happening" on a device when an event occurred to provide detailed
troubleshooting information.
Stop Data Snapshot
Tells ViewITpro to stop capturing
detailed snapshot data.
Start Trending Data
Similar to Snapshots, ViewITpro can
begin capturing and recording trending data of desired metrics based on an
event trigger.
Stop Trending Data
Tells ViewITpro to stop trending
data.
Post HTTP data
ViewITpro event details can
be posted to a webpage via HTTP either for viewing or for integration with
other systems.
