Intelligent Alarm Engines |

Many network management systems provide a simplistic "threshold-crossed, then alarm" based mechanism. This method yields numerous alarms due to momentary spikes or anomalous conditions on the network, causing unnecessary work. ViewITpro alleviates false-positives and only alarms when conditions are known to be threats. ViewITpro incorporates two distinct Intelligent Threshold mechanisms: time-pattern (timepat) and time-threshold (timethresh). Time-threshold ViewITpro Time-thresholds enable administrators to specify how long (in seconds) a condition must exist before an alarm event is triggered, dramatically reducing false-positives.
