Alarm Management Workflow ™
The process of managing faults is usually repetitive and well known, but is rarely properly documented and enforced among a diverse support team. Overburdened support engineers may often avoid documenting alarm resolutions and fault management processes due to time constraints. ViewITpro enables graphical usage, easy-to-follow Proactive Alarm Management Workflow for every alarm. This workflow can be used by first level support all the way through to senior engineers and management. From each alarm, support engineers can follow the flow and perform any of the following actions: ·
Acknowledge the alarm and take ownership. ·
Schedule a temporary notification blackout (turn off paging or
additional alarm notifications while working). ·
Remotely access the alarming device. ·
Run diagnostics on the remote system to further determine root
cause. ·
Adjust alarm thresholds. ·
Enter the resolution into the knowledgebase. ·
Clear the alarm. ·
Escalate the alarm to another user or group.
